Weekend with sled dogs
We journey through the vast National Park of Fulufjället where you can find the highest frozen waterfall in Sweden and also the worlds oldest tree!  The planned sights where we will take you are extremely difficult to get to without dogsleds! We make our camp by the frozen lakes of Rörsjön were you can also try your luck at ice fishing.

February to april with longer days and a beautiful scenery in the National Park of Fulufjället. The park is perfect for dog sledding The crusted surface of the snow carries the dogsleds wherever you wanna go and after a full day of dog sledding a hot sauna awaits.

Each day begins with giving the dogs breakfast. If the scenery of the sun rising doesn’t get you out of bed, the cosy dogs absolutely will, their love is by far greatest in the mornings. Each day is planned according to the weather and condition of the snow. The National Park has a lot to explore and with dog sledding you will get to enjoy most parts of it. No machines are allowed in the park so the only thing that brakes the silence is the laughter on the sleds and the panting of the dogs.

ARRIVAL
We rendezvous at the agreed meeting point. From here you drive your own car to the starting point for the dogsledding. It will be approximately 1,5 h drive. Before heading up the mountain, we prepare all our gear and pack it safely into the sleds. Each team will carry their own gear but also some mutual equipment.  You will get introduced to the dogs and also get all necessary safety instructions on how to get along with your team and how to drive. Before sunset we will reach the mountain lodge and on our way we will have a delicious meal over an open fire.

Before heating up the sauna and preparing supper we will give the dogs their well earned food and straw for bedding.

DAY 2
We get up at sunrise to feed the dogs. If the peachy colors of the sun rising doesn’t get you up, the super cosy dogs absolutely will. Their love peaks in the morning and its a magical hour that will stay with you forever. After their breakfast we prepare ours before heading out to explore the National Park.

The park is of course machine prohibited so the only disturbances will be the dogs panting and some random laughter from the sleds. On our way we will pass the worlds oldest tree and Swedens highest waterfall among other things. This fantastic highland plateau is incredibly vast and has a lot of historical sights that we guide you through. Lunch is of course prepared over a fire. We end the day like the first.

DEPARTURE
After the usual morning routines we clean the lodge before heading back to the parking lot. We unpack the sleds and take care of the dogs before the heart crushing farewell to your team. The bond that has grown from the last couple of days will bring the most bearded man’s eyes to tears.

Lunch has been prepared in the morning and will give you some extra energy for your ride home. We leave the lot at appox. 1 pm.
